Google Lets YouTube Down
CALIFORNIA (OCN) — Have you been trying to get on YouTube or notice an embedded video on a web site has disappeared?
Well, you can blame Google for it. On November 13, 2006, Google acquired video sharing website YouTube but while dotting their “I’s” and crossing their “T’s” in the acquisition, they overlooked the expiration date for YouTube’s domain name youtube.com.
Today when visitors try to go directly to youtube.com or view any video on the site, they are greeted with a “cannot display the web page” error.
So far, it is unclear how YouTube advertisers will feel and the millions of visitors that frequent the site.
